One can be determined on who they are, by determining who they choose to affiliate with, for example, being with brilliant people, one may be determined to be brilliant. This may not always be legitimate, but this is true when it comes to Mildred and Guy Montag. Guy started to hang out with Clarisse, and became an outcast, and Mildred was the same as the rest of society and was apathetic.
The new personality of Guy Montag, clashed with Mildred’s, allowing for the reader to see Mildred’s apathy from Guy’s point of view. Everyone in the community are basically copies of each other, enjoying and hating the same things, therefore it is easy to imagine the whole society acting like this.
